Christopher Kirchhoff works as Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Kirchhoff authored the Space Shuttle Columbia Accident Investigation Report and co-wrote the U.S. government historical non-fiction, "Hard Lessons: The Iraq Reconstruction Experience," coined "the Iraq Pentagon Papers" by the New York Times. He graduated with highest honors from Harvard University and holds a Ph.D in politics from Cambridge University, where he was a Gates Cambridge Scholar.

Troy Thomas is Director of Strategic Planning for the National Security Council and former Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff. He is author of Warlords Rising: Confronting Violent Non-State Actors (Lexington Press, 2005).
