Jennifer Ouellette is a recovering English major who stumbled into science writing as a struggling freelance writer in New York City and found it was the perfect career for her. She is the author of three popular science books and specializes in physics and many related topics. Jennifer's work has appeared in the Washington Post, Discover, Salon, Nature, Physics Today, Symmetry, Physics World, and New Scientist, among other venues. She is also a prolific blogger, writing regularly for Discovery News and maintaining a blog at Scientific American called Cocktail Party Physics. She has strong interests in the intersection of science and popular culture, communicating science, and in fostering the next generation of science writers.
