[PAST EVENT] Inaugural Newton-Blanchard Prize for Creative Writing
April 1, 2016 - May 1, 2016
Location
No specific location.
All Arts & Sciences undergraduates are eligible to submit their work, regardless of major. These awards are intended to be made to student writers from across the undergraduate spectrum who have curiosity, imagination, humor, and a facility for clearly communicating their thoughts, discoveries, and passions.
The short fiction category is limited to a full-length, original short story. The nonfiction category covers an original story or essay with an informative or reflective element; it must reach beyond a strictly personal experience for some universal or deeper meaning. The nonfiction submissions should not be reviews or opinion pieces, but must tell true stories and be factually accurate.
All entries are judged anonymously by an interdisciplinary committee of Arts & Sciences faculty. Submissions are due by May 1 at http://newtonblanchardprize.submittable.com.
