Join the CGA for the final talk in our spring 2023 speaker series with Bobby Crutchfield! Mr. Crutchfield is the Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Masego Inc., an organization that provides expertise in GEOINT, human geography analysis, data science, and more. The presentation will include an elevator pitch for human geography, humanitarian assistance & disaster relief, force protection, the human terrain ethical dilemma, and information versus intelligence. About Bobby Crutchfield:
Bobby Crutchfield has been Chief Executive Officer of Masego Inc. since its founding in 2013 with his father, Robert Crutchfield Senior. Mr. Crutchfield is a geospatial intelligence professional with over 20 years of industry experience at Masego, The US Army, BAE Systems, and SAIC. Mr. Crutchfield received an M.B.A. from George Mason University and a B.S. in Military Intelligence from Wayland Baptist University. He is a veteran of both the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. Courtney Blackburn, Human Geography SME/Senior Technical Advisor for the International Program for Human Geography, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency/Masego Inc., will also be in attendance.
About Courtney Blackburn:
Courtney Blackburn graduated from James Madison University in 2008 with a B.S. in Cultural Anthropology and a minor in Geospatial Sciences and holds certificates in Change Leadership and High Performance Leadership from Cornell University. She spent two years interning with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s Afghan Military Issues Branch supporting various GEOINT requirements. She went on to work for the Marine Corps Intelligence Agency as a civilian under the Department of Navy where she helped to stand up the Marine Corps first Human Geography Branch within the Geospatial Intelligence Directorate. In her 11 years at MCIA she filled numerous roles including Senior Intelligence Analyst, Deputy Branch Chief, and a liaison to MCIA’s Open Source Intelligence and Tradecraft Division.
During her time at MCIA, she focused on the development of tools and techniques for Human Geography, the production and dissemination of raster-based analysis, and assisting in the establishment of co-production relationships with the Australian, Great Britain, and German Ministry of Defense. She provided subject matter support and expertise in the development of policy, publications, and training to support requirements from the Combatant Commands, various Marine Corps elements, and Headquarters Marine Corps. During her tenure at MCIA she filled one of two Marine Corps Liaison billets to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency for their Pathfinder Program that focused on the use of open source tools and techniques to provide decision makers with open source intelligence.
After 13 years with the federal government she became a Federal Contractor with Masego Inc. and is currently a Subject Matter Expert in Human Geography as well as a Senior Technical Advisor for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s (NGA), International Program for Human Geography (IPHG). As part of the program management team for the IPHG, she provides technical advice, facilitates training, and fulfills secretarial duties in support of the 15 Member Nations focused on the co-production and dissemination of Human Geography data and products.
Courtney lives in Bristow, VA and enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband and two children.
