Tomas Lozano will present a portion of United States musical history that to this day is still dimly recognized. He takes Franciscan documents of the 17th century to demonstrate that by 1630 there was a large amount of musical activity performed by New Mexico natives. Among other activities, the missions took on the role of teaching how to read and write music. Please join us for this fascinating look at the music in the missions.
