The exhibit will be on display in Swem's entrance gallery from October 7, 2021 to December 31, 2021. An opening reception will be held on Friday, Oct. 22 from 4-5 p.m. in the Swem lobby. Refreshments served. Free and open to all!
This exhibit explores P. K. Chen, W&M's first Asian student and student of color so far on record, and his experiences in the US as chronicled in his own account, A CHINESE STUDENT'S FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF AMERICA, published in the William & Mary Literary Magazine in 1923. Join us as we follow Chen through his own words.
