[PAST EVENT] Mind Game: Hanging 'Round the Hoop with Former WNBA Star, Chamique Holdsclaw
April 21, 2016
7pm - 9pm
You've encountered it before. Your academic, job, or athletic performance isn't up to par, and somebody advises you, "Get your head in the game!" That's easy for some to say. For those living with mental health challenges, it's not always easy to do.
Chamique Holdsclaw was twice an NCAA star on Pat Summit's UT team of champions, she was the top pick for the WNBA in 1991, and then she earned spots on both the US national and Olympic teams.
But what happened when depression compromised her life on and off the court?
Join us in Sadler for a screening of "Mind Game," Rick Goldsmith's timely documentary about Chamique Holdsclaw's amazing life, and help us welcome her to the Commmonwealth Auditorium stage.
Whether it's us or somebody we know...some person in our life is challenged by an aspect of mental health, and here is yet another great, on-campus opportunity to draft a game plan to cope with and grow through those challenges.
This event will be a slam dunk evening, and Chamique Holdsclaw is happy to be there for us.
We invite all of you to be there for her too.
