[PAST EVENT] HOPE Presents: Take Back the Night
April 21, 2016
7pm
Join HOPE and the William & Mary community at the 2016 Take Back the Night, a night that is dedicated to the support and healing of survivors of sexual assault. Take Back the Night is the culmination of our efforts throughout Sexual Assault Awareness Month and the most powerful night of the campaign. Survivors and advocates would love to have you there to learn and grow with us.
The first portion, in Tidewater in Sadler at 7:00 pm, features personal testimonies and spoken word pieces from survivors, as well as testimonies that have been submitted anonymously to be read by members of the Healthy Relationships/Sexual Aggression branch of HOPE. Faculty and staff are welcome to join for this portion of the event.
The second portion, in the Sunken Garden at 8:00 pm, is a candlelight vigil where attendees can step forward and candidly speak about how sexual assault has affected them or someone they know, or any emotions they are feeling at that time.
There will be volunteers from The Haven and Avalon present during both portions of the event to provide emotional support.
